Best of Britannia
The best of the Best of Britannia
Best of Britannia is a show that celebrates the best of British design, fashion and manufacturing. Housed in the beautiful and historic Farmiloe building in Clerkenwell, the three-day event is filled with patriotic traders showcasing their work. This year’s stands featured all sorts of quality products including vintage cushions, cashmere socks, leather bags and knitted jumpers, all of which were manufactured in the UK.
We were extremely honoured to take our place beside them and created a room set displaying some of our iconic sofas and chairs including, The Fifty Five, The Sixty, and The Fifty Three. We also got the chance to show off some of our stunning upholstery fabrics including Tonic Mustard, Festival Teal and the striking Dogtooth Black seat cushion on The Fifty Eight.
Our stand proved immensely popular with the Best of Britannia visitors including one lady in particular. The moment television personality Angela Rippon relaxed on The Fifty Eight was particularly special, but even more so because it was shown on The One Show later in the week.
As well as showcasing the collection, we also took the opportunity to hold an exclusive blogger event on our stand. Our guest speakers included our collaborator and Non Executive Director of Best of Britannia Wayne Hemingway, G Plan Sales Director Mike Daly and special guests Simon Tarr and Matthew Crawford from popular vintage store After Noah in Islington. The event was a huge success inspiring discussion around Buy British Day and the G Plan Vintage collection.
Best of Britannia reminds us that we live in a country filled with great invention, fashion and style. We’re honoured to be a British manufacturer and are proud of our wonderful heritage.
