Design Spy – Inside G Plan HQ
To celebrate London Design Festival, we’re giving you a peek inside G Plan HQ. We’ve collaborated with some of our favourite designers to create some one-of-a-kind pieces exclusively for our reception area. The designers have put a unique twist on sofas and chairs from the G Plan Vintage range and we love the results!
Here’s the beautifully tailored Fifty Nine Large Sofa in Brush Rose, and we have Mini Moderns to thank for the fabulous patterned seat cushion! London based design company Mini Moderns was set up in 2006 by Keith Stephenson and Mark Hampshire. Drawing design influence from a variety of sources; from midcentury British textiles to vintage toys, they offer their beautiful prints on a range of homeware items including wall papers, rugs and ceramics. We love what they’ve done with the Fifty Nine, pairing the soft pink with a bold blue and white P.L.U.T.O print for a real contrast.
Sian Elin has totally transformed the iconic Sixty Two Chair for our reception, combining the G Plan Vintage Brush Pewter with an amazing Agra fabric back. Sian Elin is an up and coming designer and definitely one to watch; she was recently named as one of The Sunday Times Top 30 Fabric and Wallpaper designers. All Sian Elin’s patterns are hand-drawn to create a unique and recognisable brand, we love her work and our statement chair!
This one-of-a-kind Fifty Five Armchair was created by enthusiastic young designer Zoe Murphy. Zoe promotes the idea of ‘loving what belongs to you’ using her own unique prints to transform vintage furniture into something new and exciting. Zoe has transformed this popular chair with her bold and imaginative prints on the fabric, and playful geometric shapes on the show wood. Sitting alongside the Fifty Five is an original G Plan side table which Zoe has adapted with colourful screen printing to give it a new lease of life. Bold and brilliant, we think these two pieces make the perfect pair.
Huge thanks to all three designers for their unique twist on our G Plan Vintage range! To see more of their work visit:
